Javier Huerta was born in Sotillo de la Adrada (\u00c1vila).<\/p>\n
He began painting by the hand of his cousin Antonio Alcolea, a miniaturist painter, who taught him the techniques of oil painting and miniature portraiture.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the 80s, he established his residence in Tenerife, where he was captivated by the light and the island landscapes that marked the first stage of his work.<\/p>\n
He receives teachings from the painter Te\u00f3filo Gal\u00e1n Ulla, with whom he discovers color in depth.<\/p>\n
For months he will perfect what he has learned by painting from nature in the incomparable setting of the Teide ravines.
\nBetween 1992 and 1998, he taught introductory painting classes at the Icod de los Vinos Seniors Club and more advanced courses, aimed at teachers, in his workshop.<\/p>\n
He acts as coordinator of the Tertulia Chimisay, where artists from various specialties (painters, writers, poets, singer-songwriters\u2026) participate in meetings held at the Hotel Chimisay in Puerto de la Cruz (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). This enriching experience will last two years.
\nRestless and eager for knowledge, he is introduced to engraving techniques in the graphic work editing workshop of the \u201cAntonin Artaud\u201d Library of Contemporary Expression.<\/p>\n
In the summer of 2001 and 2005 he traveled to France where he shared creative experiences in the studio of the painter and friend Henri Ibanez.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of the year 2000 he started in sculpture, a work that he combines with painting. This same year he was invited by the City Council of Sotillo de la Adrada (\u00c1vila) to inaugurate the House of Culture, this being the first exhibition of him with metal support. Likewise, the University of the Basque Country, in collaboration with the Provincial Council of \u00c1lava, El Correo, the Obra Social de la Caja Vital-Caja Kutxa and the Arabako Foru Aldundia invites you to exhibit your metal work in the Pavilion of the University Campus from the University of the Basque Country based in Vitoria-Gasteiz (\u00c1lava).<\/p>\n
In October 2005, Dominique Ibanez, president of the Art\u00e9vie Association, participated in the first international meeting of contemporary art \u201cSeine et Marne\u201d with 22 large-format sculptures, presenting her work, and G\u00e9rard Garmand director-editor-in-chief of the magazine specialized in art \u201c Azart \u201d. Share the meeting with the following painters: Wang Yan-Cheng, Henri Ibanez, Carlos Bois, Serge Lab\u00e9gorre, Moreno Pincas, Diane de Valou, Davvod Emdadian and Alexis Fraikin. This same year he exhibited his first solo exhibition of painting and sculpture at “l\u00b4Espace d\u00b4Art Contemporain du Bocage de Lorrez le Bocage”<\/p>\n
In 2007 he was invited by the \u201cARTEVIE\u201d Association to the exhibition \u201cOriginal Affiches 1943-1975\u201d where he shows 16 steel sculptures together with works by Braque, Chagall, Mir\u00f3, Dal\u00ed, Picasso, Matisse, Ibanez, Soulage, Van Dongen and Zao Wou Ki. At the end of July, a hanging sculpture measuring 5 meters high by 2.70 wide and weighing a ton was finished, as well as four 6 x 2 meter murals made of corten steel and wood commissioned by two hotels in the south from Tenerife.<\/p>\n
Essentially a self-taught artist, he currently has an extensive production that exceeds 1000 works. A good part is distributed between Public and Private Institutions such as the \u201cNational Library\u201d (Madrid), \u201cFundaci\u00f3n La Caixa\u201d (Barcelona), Obra Social de CajaCanarias (Tenerife), \u201cTorre Picasso\u201d (Madrid), \u201cFundaci\u00f3n Progreso y Cultura \u201d(Madrid),\u201c Hidr\u00e1ulica Tinerfe\u00f1a \u201d,\u201c Grujar SL \u201d (Madrid), Hotel Abama (Tenerife), Vice-presidency of the Government of Spain (Madrid), public space of the municipality of Icod de los Vinos (Tenerife), “Health Center” of Icod de los Vinos (Tenerife), where they locate a sculpture and two large-format murals on aluminum support, Universidad de Biolog\u00eda de La Laguna (S \/ C. de Tenerife) and in private collections in France, Germany, England, Italy and China.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3937,"template":"","class_list":["post-3989","fortunate_people","type-fortunate_people","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
